THE ALFA ROMEOS

Over 50 cars and an archive of documents, technical drawings, original maintenance booklets, trophies, magazines and vintage prints.

The origins of the collection

The Museum car collection was born from Pietro Cozzi’s passion for Alfa Romeo. This passion pushed him to keep one example for each model produced since 1950, choosing among the most significant configurations and special series, and also two unique examples.

The cars on display, divided in sedans, coupés and spiders, represent an important patrimony for the history of Italian cars.

The icons

The Montreal, with its futuristic design and winking glance thanks to its “movable eyelids” seduced the public at the Universal Expo in 1967, where it was presented and where it got its name from.
The Giulietta, the “girlfriend” of Italy, a love story that still makes a lot of hearts beat.
The Osso di Seppia, officially renamed “Duetto”, which became immortal thanks to the film “The Graduate”, turned 50 in 2016.
And then the “Pantera”, Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint, became a legend when it was used officially by the Police force. Military green, and a mudguard which displayed a “black panther” and a motto: “If the Panther chases you, you don’t stand a chance”.

Immortal icons, all carefully safeguarded in our museum.

The brain

A complete archive of books, films, signs, photographs and objects.
More than 150 vintage posters tell the story of how communication by image has changed throughout the years. The technological changes are shown in the user’s and maintenance manuals, drawings of prototypes (some of which were never produced) and sketches.
The commercial documents, which were safeguarded during a period of 60 years, draw the boundary of markets and strategies throughout different decades.

The cars are the heart of the Museum and the Cozzi.Lab is its brain and as such it represents an infinite resource for yet-to- come discoveries.
