La Giulia diventa la<strong> spina dorsale della gamma<\/strong>, introduce il <strong>motore bialbero<\/strong> portato a 1,6 litri, ed evolve ulteriormente il concetto di berlina sportiva, portando sul mercato alcune innovazioni che la proiettano immediatamente nel ruolo di benchmark del segmento anche se, come e pi\u00f9 della Giulietta, \u00e8 difficile trovare delle concorrenti in grado di impensierirla.<\/p>\n<p>La Giulia tocca punte di velocit\u00e0 massima di 180 km\/h (oltre 190 la \u201cTI Super\u201d) <em>(foto 2.2)<\/em> e, non solo con il tachimetro, va ad insidiare modelli dei segmenti superiori, alimentando il mito delle prestazioni delle auto Alfa Romeo: motore, tenuta di strada, \u201cfrenata-Alfa\u201d, sicurezza attiva (altro concetto caro all\u2019Alfa). In Italia la rete autostradale comincia a svilupparsi e la Giulia \u00e8 <strong>ideale per le sfide \u201cda casello a casello\u201d<\/strong>, storie, mezze-leggende, tra gli appassionati e i frequentatori dei bar sport.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row padding_mobile=&#8221;on&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;Disegnata dal vento&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>La nuova berlina di Arese, nuova come lo stabilimento in cui viene prodotta, nasce con <strong>un\u2019estetica di rottura<\/strong>, scioccante <em>(foto 2.3)<\/em>, diversa da tutte le altre: inizialmente fatica ad imporsi (e l\u2019accordo con la Renault satura momentaneamente le linee di produzione) ma a distanza di qualche mese dalla presentazione prende il volo perch\u00e9 pubblico e critica si inchinano davanti alle sue caratteristiche fuori dall\u2019ordinario.<\/p>\n<p>La carrozzeria presenta un <strong>CX pari a 0,34<\/strong> <em>(foto 2.4)<\/em>, la pubblicit\u00e0 recita \u201c<strong>disegnata dal vento<\/strong>\u201d, \u00e8 la prima vettura di grande serie ad essere dotata di un <strong>cambio a 5 rapporti,<\/strong> che permette di sfruttare appieno le doti del bialbero millesei, ha una scocca a deformazione controllata in caso di urti, segno della modernit\u00e0 della progettazione.<\/p>\n<p>La Giulia rappresenta un monumento al design industriale, creata dall\u2019ufficio stile, sotto la responsabilit\u00e0 del prof. border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>La Giulia verde della polizia<\/h3>\n<p>Anche la Giulia segue \u201cil solito\u201d copione delle berline sportive del biscione: viene presentata la \u201c<strong>Giulia TI Super<\/strong>\u201d <em>(foto 2.8)<\/em>, versione ready-to-race, e comincia a vincere in tutto il mondo, corse su pista e su strada (memorabile il successo al Tour de France Auto) e nei rally (il mitico Sandro Munari comincia con una \u201cTI Super\u201d), in attesa del ritorno ufficiale dell\u2019Alfa alle competizioni attraverso la struttura dell\u2019<strong>Autodelta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Il copione viene seguito, nel caso della Giulia con un\u2019interpretazione indimenticabile, anche con le forniture alla Polizia di Stato e ai Carabinieri: \u201c<em>la-Giulia-verde-della-Polizia<\/em>\u201d o \u201c<em>la-Giulia-blu-dei-Carabinieri<\/em>\u201d diventano popolarissime grazie anche ai ruoli da protagoniste nei film cosiddetti \u201cpoliziotteschi\u201d degli anni Settanta. border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>La famiglia si allarga<\/h3>\n<p>L\u2019Alfa Romeo, con il suo grande management e know-how tecnico, negli anni Sessanta vive la fase di maggior espansione commerciale della sua storia e, inevitabilmente, <strong>la famiglia Giulia si allarga<\/strong> in motorizzazioni e configurazioni di carrozzeria: la \u201cGiulia Sprint GT\u201d, la 1600 Spider \u201cDuetto\u201d <em>(foto 2.9)<\/em>, la Giulia \u201c1300\u201d che sostituisce la Giulietta ormai fuori produzione, la \u201c1750 berlina\u201d <em>(foto 2.10)<\/em>, coup\u00e9 e spider, l\u2019arrivo del motore 2 litri, le sportive da corsa rappresentate dalla \u201cGiulia TZ\u201d e \u201cTZ2\u201d, le \u201cJunior\u201d per i giovani.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019evoluzione in formato berlina della Giulia \u00e8 rappresentata proprio dalla \u201c<strong>1750<\/strong>\u201d (disegno Bertone) &#8211; che riprende un nome leggendario per la tradizione Alfa Romeo &#8211; e si presenta sul mercato con uno stile moderno, di maggiori dimensioni, con interni pi\u00f9 ampi, meglio rifiniti e con una plancia che lega ergonomia e design ottenendo un risultato di gran gusto <em>(foto 2.11)<\/em>. La 1750 viene cos\u00ec collocata nel segmento sopra la Giulia e, in seguito, diventa \u201c2000\u201d, col motore portato a 132 cv, al top in termini di prestazioni (sfiora i 200 all\u2019ora).<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019elemento sorprendente, soprattutto se osservato oggi, \u00e8 il<strong> continuo perfezionamento della gamma<\/strong> a cui \u00e8 sottoposta la Giulia, diventa quasi un immancabile appuntamento annuale, tanto che nel 1974 l\u2019Alfa approccia l\u2019argomento del motore \u201cdiesel\u201d con l\u2019ultima versione della Giulia (la \u201cNuova Super\u201d) <em>(foto 2.12)<\/em>: il tema diesel sar\u00e0 poi trattato (con successo) sull\u2019Alfetta cinque anni pi\u00f9 tardi.<\/p>\n<p>Nel 1978 la Giulia berlina termina ufficialmente la sua carriera commerciale, dopo <strong>573.000 esemplari prodotti<\/strong> e venduti in tutto il mondo.
