La rivoluzione&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>Nel 1966,<strong> l\u2019Italia era pronta a cambiare marcia<\/strong>. E no, non parliamo solo di automobili. In quell\u2019anno, due rivoluzioni facevano il loro ingresso sulla scena: una su quattro ruote, l\u2019altra su due gambe. Da un lato, la Spider 1600 \u201c<strong><em>Osso di Seppia<\/em><\/strong>\u201d, sinuosa, elegante e sfrontata, pronta a sedurre chiunque osasse guardarla. Dall\u2019altro,<strong> la minigonna,<\/strong> un affronto alle convenzioni, <strong>una dichiarazione di indipendenza<\/strong> cucita su misura. Il problema? Entrambe volevano essere la regina della strada.<\/p>\n<p>Al volante della Spider, un giovane con un accenno di capelli lunghi, come si usava allora, con lo sguardo sognante e la voglia di divorare la strada. Accanto a lui, una ragazza con una morigerata minigonna nuova di zecca e un sorriso pronto a sfidare il mondo. Guarda me: linee perfette, motore ruggente, passione pura. Io non sfilo, io corro!\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abForse \u2013 risponde di getto quel morbido pezzo di stoffa- ma <strong>io cambio la societ\u00e0<\/strong>. Le donne non vogliono pi\u00f9 stare sedute a guardare. Vogliono camminare, ballare, conquistare. E con me lo fanno mostrando quello che prima nascondevano\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La Spider accese i suoi fari, come se volesse fissarla meglio. \u00abInteressante. Ma sai una cosa? Forse ci somigliamo pi\u00f9 di quanto pensi. Anche io sfido le regole. Anche io porto chi mi sceglie in un mondo nuovo\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Come a voler dimostrare il punto, la Spider scart\u00f2 con eleganza a destra, poi a sinistra.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abVisto? &#8211; disse la Spider con l\u2019eco del motore di sottofondo &#8211; io<strong> non mi limito a far girare le teste. Io faccio battere i cuor<\/strong>i\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La minigonna ondeggi\u00f2 nel vento, quasi divertita. \u00abD\u2019accordo, devo ammettere che sai come farti notare. Ma ricordati: senza di me, nessuno avrebbe mai osato sedersi su questi sedili con le gambe scoperte\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>E cos\u00ec, mentre il 1966 avanzava, <strong>la strada si riempiva di minigonne e di Spider<\/strong>, entrambe pronte a far voltare le teste e battere i cuori. In fondo era un trentenne, e a quell\u2019et\u00e0 si pu\u00f2 soprassedere sulla mancanza di bagagliaio e su qualche spiffero in pi\u00f9. Senza contare che, lavorando nella concessionaria, qualche trattamento di favore l\u2019avr\u00e0 pure avuto. Cos\u00ec, nel marzo del 1967, nel garage di casa sua fece il suo ingresso una fiammante Spider 1600 bianca, pronta a scorrazzarlo per tutta la bella stagione. E poi, come non possedere l\u2019auto che dodici mesi prima era sbarcata anche in America e fatta provare a un tester come <strong>Steve McQueen<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>E che, proprio nel 1967, fu la protagonista &#8220;meccanica&#8221; del film\u00a0<em>The Graduate<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 pellicola che in Italia, superate le forche caudine della censura, arriv\u00f2 solo nel 1968 con il titolo\u00a0<strong><em>Il Laureato<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 consacrandosi definitivamente come vettura giovane e controcorrente, insomma, al passo con i tempi. Talmente al passo con i tempi che anche molti appassionati, un po\u2019 conservatori, accolsero la linea creata da <strong>Battista \u201cPinin\u201d Farina, Franco Martinengo e Aldo Brovarone<\/strong> con qualche resistenza.<\/p>\n<p>In fondo erano abituati alle forme pi\u00f9 convenzionali della Giulia Spider \u2013 che, di fatto, era una copia della vecchia Giulietta Spider ma con un motore aggiornato \u2013 e successivamente della GTC, che in pratica era una Giulia GT senza tetto. Capita.<\/p>\n<p>Per\u00f2 dicono che il primo amore non si scorda mai, e anche in questo caso, mai detto fu cos\u00ec veritiero perch\u00e9 a un quasi cinquantenne Pietro Cozzi un bel giorno di marzo del 1984 si present\u00f2 l\u2019occasione di <strong>riappropriarsi di un pezzettino della sua giovinezza<\/strong>: un cliente aveva dato in permuta una Spider 1600 bianca del 1967 e il capo officina verificando il libretto di circolazione scopr\u00ec che il primo proprietario era il suo titolare\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Il tempo di presentarsi nell\u2019ufficio di Cozzi e dopo pochi minuti la trattativa era conclusa. Non so voi, ma quando si rientra in possesso di qualcosa che si \u00e8 avuta anni prima \u00e8 come ritrovare e riprovare quelle emozioni che il tempo aveva sbiadite. Ma la storia insegna che certe passioni crescono con il tempo: con le generazioni successive, la Spider avrebbe toccato quota <strong>124mila unit\u00e0 prodotte nei suoi 28 anni di carriera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Comunque i primi proprietari, una volta superata la sorpresa per le sue linee avveniristiche, ne furono entusiasti. Soprattutto negli Stati Uniti, dove la mitica \u201cDuetto\u201d sbarc\u00f2 grazie alla determinazione dell\u2019importatore <strong>Max Hoffmann<\/strong>, lo stesso che anni prima convinse il Portello a realizzare la Giulietta Spider per il mercato americano. D\u2019altra parte, Hoffmann aveva fiuto per le icone: \u00e8 stato lui a ispirare due leggende su quattro ruote come la Mercedes 300SL Gullwing e la Porsche 356 Speedster. Insomma, in molti credevano in lei, e la creatura di Battista \u201cPinin\u201d Farina non trad\u00ec le aspettative. Grazie alla linea aerodinamica e al peso a secco di soli 940 chili, la velocit\u00e0 massima con la capote chiusa <strong>toccava i 185 km\/h. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il merito era anche del pianale accorciato della Giulia e della meccanica derivata dalla Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, che garantivano prestazioni di tutto rispetto. I quattro freni a disco, privi di servofreno, assicuravano <strong>decelerazioni efficaci<\/strong>, mentre l\u2019assenza del servosterzo rendeva l\u2019auto leggermente pesante nelle manovre da fermo, ma nulla di eccessivamente faticoso.<\/p>\n<p>Il cuore pulsante della Spider 1600 era il celebre<strong> quattro cilindri in lega leggera da 1570 cc<\/strong>, alimentato da due <strong>carburatori doppio corpo Weber<\/strong>, capace di erogare 109 CV. E se il nome \u201cSpider\u201d \u00e8 finito sulle automobili, un motivo c\u2019\u00e8. Nell\u2019Inghilterra dell\u2019Ottocento cos\u00ec chiamavano certe carrozze leggere, con grandi ruote e una carrozzeria esile che sembrava sospesa nel vuoto, proprio come un aracnide in agguato. Poi, con il tempo, il termine ha attraversato la Manica e trovato casa in Italia, dove ha smesso di indicare un semplice concetto tecnico per diventare <strong>una promessa di libert\u00e0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Perch\u00e9 una spider non \u00e8 solo un\u2019auto: \u00e8<strong> l\u2019essenza della Dolce Vita<\/strong>, eppure, dietro il fascino senza tempo di queste vetture, c\u2019\u00e8 sempre una lunga storia di ricerca e stile.<\/p>\n<p>Prendiamo la Spider 1600: la sua linea non nacque all\u2019improvviso dalla matita di <strong>Pininfarina<\/strong>, ma fu il frutto di anni di studio e prototipi sperimentali. Gi\u00e0 nel 1955, al Salone dell\u2019Auto, si intravedevano le prime idee che avrebbero portato alla sua forma definitiva. Il progetto del 1961, basato sul telaio della Giulietta SS e presentato al Salone di Torino, \u00e8 quello che pi\u00f9 si avvicina alla futura Spider 1600, eccezion fatta per la carenatura dei fari e il lunotto posteriore.<\/p>\n<p>Era solo questione di tempo prima che prendesse vita quella<strong> silhouette inconfondibile<\/strong>, destinata a lasciare un segno nella storia dell\u2019automobile nei suoi 28 anni di produzione, che termin\u00f2 la commercializzazione nel 1994 con la IV serie.
