Wifredo Ricart mai realizzati c\u2019\u00e8 anche una berlinetta da corsa che se fosse stata costruita sarebbe stata un\u2019auto rivoluzionaria, anticipatrice di concetti costruttivi modernissimi.\r\n\r\nWifredo Pelayo Ricart iniz\u00f2 a lavorare in Alfa Romeo come consulente nel 1936, ma il suo nome comparve nel libro paga della societ\u00e0 solo nell\u2019ottobre del 1937, un mese dopo l\u2019uscita di Vittorio Jano. Fu dunque, a sorpresa, un ingegnere spagnolo, originario di Barcellona , il successore del progettista torinese. Tutti erano convinti che l\u2019incarico sarebbe andato a Gioachino Colombo.\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Ricart e la sua \u00e8quipe progettarono nel 1941, la Tipo 163, una berlinetta da corsa per la categoria Sport con motore da 3 litri di cilindrata. La carrozzeria era chiusa con ruote coperte per migliorare l\u2019effetto aerodinamico. Il propulsore era quello adoperato per la Tipo 162, concepito da Ettore Pagani, capo disegnatore dei progetti speciali, come risulta dal disegno n. 260 del 17.11.1938.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Privo di compressore e con 13 modifiche apportate da questa data fino al 24 luglio del 1941, il motore fu adattato al nuovo telaio a longheroni posizionandolo nella zona posteriore centrale. La sospensione anteriore era a ruote indipendenti con barre di torsioni longitudinali e posteriormente con assale De Dion. Una delle novit\u00e0 era l\u2019impiego del comando idraulico del cambio con la leva situata sul cruscotto. I progetti produttivi di questo modello prevedevano anche il montaggio di un 12 cilindri derivato dal prototipo S10, solo per una produzione in piccola serie per i clienti sportivi.<\/p>\r\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;Row&#8221; Colombo immagin\u00f2 una vettura assolutamente innovativa che rompeva con gli schemi tradizionali, ipotizzando linee che solo oggi ci appaiono familiari.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Partendo dai disegni conservati presso l\u2019Archivio Storico Alfa Romeo, vi mostriamo una inedita \u201cvisualizzazione \u201c della 163 realizzata dal disegnatore olandese Rens Biesma e pubblicati nel 2001 su La Manovella, la rivista ufficiale dell\u2019ASI.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Per Ricart questa vettura fu una sfida che ricorda , per coraggio, l\u2019Alfa Romeo Ricotti, soprannominata \u201cSiluro\u201d, realizzato dal carrozziere milanese Castagna nel 1914, per il conte Ricotti.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Peccato che quest\u2019auto fu solo sognata. Secondo i ricordi di un collaboratore di Gioachino Colombo, la vettura fu completata in parte, e solo a scopo sperimentale, per constatarne la validit\u00e0 del montaggio dei principali particolari. Era stato, inoltre, modificato e montato un cambio tipo 512. Due mesi pi\u00f9 tardi, la 163 compare in un elenco delle commesse sperimentali come vettura da corsa da costruire insieme a vetture tipo 512.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Nel mese di dicembre del 1945 figura ancora in una distinta delle vetture sperimentali da corsa e sport esistenti ed \u00e8 cos\u00ec descritta: \u201cvettura tipo 163, guida interna, incompleta e in attesa di essere completata, in deposito ad Orta (uno dei decentramenti allestiti per sfuggire ai bombardamenti di Milano). Questo \u00e8 l\u2019ultimo documento disponibile in Archivio sulla Tipo 163. Queste vetture costruite nel 1937-1938 montano un motore di 58-70 che in origine a 7000 giri sviluppava 195 cavalli. Si pu\u00f2 ritenere che attraverso le successive modifiche abbia raggiunto i 240 cavalli. La stessa Alfa Romeo possiede poi un autotelaio sperimentale 158 D, 2 vetture 12 cilindri senza compressore (tipo 412) , due 8 cilindri Mille Miglia 1938 di 2900 di cilindrata, uno spider 8 cilindri dello stesso tipo, una 16 cilindri sperimentale Tipo 163 con motore 162 da tre litri ed altro materiale utile ai fini dell\u2019attivit\u00e0 sportiva ed agli studi\u201d.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Giovannino Lurani, giornalista e gentleman driver, su Auto Italiana del 15 febbraio 1950 raccont\u00f2 di una sua visita al Portello: \u201cdopo aver visitato la parte di officina riservata alla produzione di serie siamo potuti entrare nel \u201csancta sanctorum\u201d e quanto abbiamo potuto ammirare potrebbe fornire argomenti per numerosi articoli densi di grande interesse. Invece, logicamente per dovere di discrezione indispensabile, ci limiteremo a dire che abbiamo potuto vedere dei prototipi, alcuni anche assai anziani di vetture di cui mai sognavamo l\u2019esistenza.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Chi avrebbe creduto, per esempio all\u2019esistenza di una vettura sport estremamente aerodinamica, a motore posteriore?<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Della Tipo 163, si \u00e8 scritto poco o nulla. La redazione della rivista rispondeva affermando che, se pur molto somigliante, la vettura ritrovata non era la Tipo 163 perch\u00e9 si presentava molto differente sia nella carrozzeria, sia nelle parti meccaniche. Faceva inoltre rilevare che Luigi Fusi, storico dell\u2019Alfa Romeo, interpellato sulla questione, riteneva che si trattasse di una elaborazione effettuata artigianalmente ed escludeva qualsiasi parentela con la Tipo 163 di Ricart.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Due anni dopo, precisamente sul nr. 294 del maggio 1980, sempre Quattroruote tornava sull\u2019argomento rispondendo ad un altro lettore di Laveno che poneva il medesimo interrogativo, fornendo per\u00f2 notizie pi\u00f9 dettagliate.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">L\u2019automobile ritrovata, diceva, era stata progettata e costruita durante la guerra da due fratelli di Fiume, Gino e Oscar Jankovits, entrambi studenti, uno d\u2019ingegneria e l\u2019altro di architettura. Per metterla insieme avevano impiegato quattro anni, utilizzando in partenza il gruppo motore-cambio di una Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 del 1934. Il motore era alloggiato posteriormente come la Tipo 163 ma diversamente dalla 163 era a guida centrale. La linea risultava aggraziata nonostante la imponente coda.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">La carrozzeria, aperta, era di tipo aerodinamico. Misteriosa invece l\u2019origine del telaio che, per qualit\u00e0, faceva quasi supporre un intervento della stessa Alfa Romeo. In seguito, fu acquistata da un inglese rivenditore d\u2019auto d\u2019epoca e fin\u00ec in Irlanda del Nord. Nel 2001, seppi che la vettura si trovava in Italia.<\/p>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Luigi Fusi and\u00f2 a trovare i due fratelli ed ebbe da loro la foto che vedete. E\u2019 subito evidente che si tratta di un\u2019altra auto anche se qualche affinit\u00e0 con la Tipo 163 c\u2019\u00e8.
