From September 19 to 28, the Museum will participate in the Milano Photo Festival with camilla albertini's shots from the photo exhibition "Women and Motors. Joys and Enough."

Raise your hand if you wish we were already in September!

At the Museum we love summer and vacations, but (we have to admit it!) we are looking forward to autumn because the photo exhibition "Women and Motors? Just Joys" will participate in a very unique event.

We are talking about Milano Photofestival, the richest and most important Milanese event dedicated to art photography and one of the most relevant cultural events on the Italian scene.

Some numbers: in 17 editions, Photofestival held 1,800 photo exhibitions by 1,760 Italian and foreign authors, involving 742 different exhibition spaces.

This year's event is titled, "Opening to the World. Photography as Civic Engagement," the Museum feels particularly connected to this theme because we believe that photography is a tool for exploring and communicating one's view of the world. Taking photos is not only a way to express creativity, but also allows one to observe the reality around, capture its beauty and contradictions, and interpret it according to one's own values. In short, a concept that fits perfectly with the mission of our photography exhibition.

The Photofestival is promoted and organized by AIF - Associazione Italiana Foto & Digital Imaging in collaboration with Impresa Cultura Confcommercio Milano and PhotoSHOWall, is held under the patronage of the Lombardy Region, the Municipality of Milan and the Metropolitan City of Milan, and is supported by sponsors, AIF partners and advertisers.

The festival's cultural policy provides for the production of new ideas alongside the dissemination of existing offerings: in addition, Photofestival alternates between the great established photographers and emerging authors, thus giving opportunities to newcomers.

That is why the Museum will enter the Photofestival circuit, offering the first edition of the exhibition "Women and Motors? Just Joys" in the Red Room.

The founding idea of the exhibition stems from a decidedly mistreated female figure in the automotive field and the desire to present and look at women with different eyes, for the great value they have, value they express every day in what they do. Including being behind the wheel of a car.

Since the pairing of women and cars is often disparaging and disrespectful, we want to say that change can be made, and Camilla Albertini (our photographer pictured here on the side) has done so through the beauty, quality, and elegance of 16 photographic shots.16 women on board 16 cars from the Fratelli Cozzi Museum, one of the most important Italian museums dedicated to the history of the Italian automobile.

The project was carried out by our Friends of Fratelli Cozzi Museum Association, thanks to the contribution of the Ticino Olona Community Foundation and in collaboration with the Italian Women's Center of Legnano
